Curiosity Kitchen
For summer 2024, we created an outdoor experience in front of the Museum along the Fort Point Channel, open to the general public as well as Museum visitors.
A place to celebrate the delights of playing with natural materials, The exhibit provides visitors with rich sensory (and sometimes messy) experiences that can grow from exploration into elaborate pretend play. Visitors use natural materials like pinecones, acorns, sand, and water in a play kitchen setting, filled with pots, pans, whisks, and more. Some days children may be busy prepping, cooking, and serving mud pies and cupcakes to their adults. On other days, adults and children may be measuring and mixing the right amount of pebbles for the perfect stone soup recipe.
